The weekly drop

One reader wins the shortlist. Every week.

Once a week we pull one subscriber and hand-build them a personal shortlist: the Nashville here-then-gone windows -- the pop-up, the last-weekend show, the dish that is about to vanish -- about to close on them, this week. Not a template. A human sits down and makes it for the winner. There is exactly one, every week, and subscribing is your entry.

How the drop works

The prize is built for one person -- you

The winner does not get a gift card. They get a concierge shortlist: a human reads what is closing across the city this week and hand-picks the handful worth chasing for that one reader. It costs us nothing to make a second one, which is exactly why there is only ever one winner -- the prize is our attention, and attention does not scale.

One winner, drawn in the open

Every week we freeze the entrant list, draw a single winner, and publish the draw so anyone can check it. No "trust us." The mechanism is fixed and public (see below), the winner is named, and the shortlist goes out. Then the next week's draw opens.

Entering is just subscribing

There is no ticket, no purchase, no form beyond your email. Subscribing to the free weekly list is your entry -- and it stays your entry, every week, for as long as you are subscribed. That is the whole trick: the thing you would want anyway (the list) is the thing that enters you (the draw).

Why the draw is fair

At the weekly cutoff we take a snapshot of everyone entered and publish a fingerprint of that exact list (a one-way hash) -- so the list cannot be changed after the fact. The winning number then comes from a public random beacon nobody controls (a published, timestamped source), combined with that fingerprint. Same inputs, same winner, every time -- so you can re-run the math yourself and confirm we did not pick a friend. One entrant, one slot; the odds are simply one over the number of subscribers in the draw.

Enter this week's draw.

Drop your email and you are in the raffle -- and on the free weekly list either way. This list does not ping you: no alerts, no notifications, just the Thursday heads-up in your inbox. Win, and your personal shortlist arrives as a one-off note, hand-built for you.

One entry per subscriber. Unsubscribe anytime -- but that takes you out of the draw. We never share your email. No purchase necessary; subscribing is free.

Fleeting is the weekly list of Nashville's time-limited food, drink and events -- the things that are here. then gone. See what that looks like on the conditions board and the insider map.
